iRanking... Wikio's Top UK Music Blogs x AUGUST 2011

Another great month of new music is upon us notably with the release of Watch The Throne on August 8 and like we did last month, we've got the early scoop on Wikio's Top UK Music Blog ranking for August - the list goes live in a few days on August 5. Taste-maker blog Soul Culture leap frogs Music Rooms into the top spot for August with Music Rooms relegated to second place in a reversal of last month's ranking while Dance Without Sleeping replaces St. Peter's View at the number 5 spot with Lil Wayne HQ and Alter The Press also swapping places from last month and coming in at number three and four respectively. Your's truly (We Plug Good Music) climbs one spot to the number 12 position while one of my favorite blogs PUT ME ON IT makes a welcome return into the TOP 20. Hit the JUMP for the full TOP 20 List...

iLike... Soul Culture TV x Melanie Fiona x Tinchy Stryder

The really good folks over at Soul Culture sent me this really dope extended footage of the amazing Ms. Melanie Fiona & UK emcee, Tinchy Stryder chopping it up in London recently! Check it out right below...

"In part two of our exclusive conversation piece with Melanie Fiona and Tinchy Stryder, the UK emcee explains how his recently confirmed new TakeOver Roc Nation deal came about and his plans to sign UK talent to the label [Stryder will continue to release his own music through Island], whilst Melanie clarifies the Roc's input in her career as co-management alongside SRC (label) and her production company, Title 9 Productions." - Soul Culture UK
"The pair also explore the importance of having people you can trust in the industry sticking behind you on your team, and Melanie specifically discusses SRC Records CEO Steve Rifkind's impact on her career. As Melanie works on her sophomore LP and Tinchy approaches his aptly titled 'Third Strike' album, they discuss solidifying your position in music after the initial debut buzz, the biggest lessons they've learned in the industry - with Melanie sharing some good advice she got from Brandy." - Soul Culture TV
I could watch and listen to Ms. Fiona all day, every day and I found it really cool how she's asking Tinchy for advice on her sophomore album... As a bonus, I thought I'd add the prequel to the footage you saw above unto here as well just incase you haven't caught it. #Shouts to Soul Culture TV

iVideo... BLAK TWANG - BEFORE & AFTER

This record dropped as an exclusive on Soul Culture last week and NOW just in, the good people over at Soul Culture shot over the video for Blak Twang's new single 'Before & After'... I shouldn't have to educate you on this U.K Hip-Hop Legend (the first time I ever heard Estelle was on this man's record! Who remembers that?) SO I wont... Just check out the video after the Jump, I'm especially feeling the Bruce Lee Sampling... Very reminiscent of classic Hip-Hop cuts before it!

iFashion... ASOS.com Introduces ASOS Africa!!!

FUNNY story how I found this out... SO there I was trawling through my favorite websites, I just got through this week's Pitchfork Track Reviews (CHECK EM OUT) & I bumped into a DJ Sarah Love interview over on the Amazing SoulCulture.co.uk that was done by AfriPop! so I bumped on over there and bumped into THIS goodness...

& let's just say... ASOS Africa got me quite interested! I bet I ain't the most fashion-forward people out there when it comes to 'African Native Prints' but It's actually a concept that I've seen recently from Emerging Fashion Label 'Lorenzo Duffle'Bag Designs' (LDB). Lemme know what you think about a couple of these LDB designs... After the JUMP (lol)

Until the NEXT Time...

... This whole ASOS Africa venture is actually kinda a GOOD look!!!
