iEVENT... ONE MIC Autumn Sessions @ Queen of Hoxton w/ CYNIKAL + SHANAZ DORSETT + BELINDA ZHAWI + MORE (Tomorrow, October 23)

After the hugely successful ONE MIC 2nd Anniversary Special last month, We Plug GOOD Music and One Mic UK are kicking off their Autumn/Winter live music season with ONE MIC... The Autumn Sessions this Sunday (October 23) and it will all be taking place at The Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch.

The stellar line-up put together for this Sunday's showcase includes British Asian rapper/producer CYNIKAL - who has had an eventful Summer festival season which has seen him perform alongside legends such as Snoop Dogg and De La Soul as well as some of the UK's finest in Professor Green, Katy B and Ed Sheeran at Lovebox, the Underage Festival and Turning Point. Joining him on the amazing line-up is British R&B/Soul singer, songwriter and poet SHANAZ DORSETT - who set the entire interwebs alight late last year with her critically acclaimed debut EP titled Above The Clouds, as premiered on DJ Premier Blog, which saw her beautifully write and sing over classic DJ Premier productions from "So Ghetto" to "Nas Is Like" to "Boom" and garner massive support from tastemakers such as I Heart Dilla and Hustle GRL.

Completing the One Mic... Autumn Sessions line-up are Zimbabwean Poet and Writer Belinda Zhawi - a member of The Roundhouse's illustruous and exciting Poetry collective, Rubix Collective (alongside the likes of household names such as Dean Atta and Deanna Rodger) - after having performed at prestigious festivals and nights like Camp Bestival, The Big Chill, Jawdance, Writer's Block and Tongue Fu, Acoustic Soul/African Folk singer, songwriter and musician Lánre - who is also the weekly curator and host of seminal Singer/Songwriter live music showcase Portobello Acoustic Sessions and will also be blessing us with songs off of her newly released debut album titled Pen Voyage Chapter 1: Sing For Change - and emerging UK Hip-Hop artist 3REE-D off of his recent performance at I Luv Live and the release of his debut mixtape The Evolution of 3ree: Lights!!!

Another great month of new music is upon us notably with the release of Watch The Throne on August 8 and like we did last month, we've got the early scoop on Wikio's Top UK Music Blog ranking for August - the list goes live in a few days on August 5. Taste-maker blog Soul Culture leap frogs Music Rooms into the top spot for August with Music Rooms relegated to second place in a reversal of last month's ranking while Dance Without Sleeping replaces St. Peter's View at the number 5 spot with Lil Wayne HQ and Alter The Press also swapping places from last month and coming in at number three and four respectively. Your's truly (We Plug Good Music) climbs one spot to the number 12 position while one of my favorite blogs PUT ME ON IT makes a welcome return into the TOP 20. iARTWORK... A Prelude to the Future x We Plug GOOD Music x Think Create Destroy

A few weeks ago, I let it slip on twitter that the good folks at Think Create Destroy made us an alternative artwork for our recently released compilation mixtape, 'A Prelude to the Future' which you can still download HERE if you haven't already. Well Here it is! What do we think? Check out the back cover as well...

Sharing is Caring so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you pass this around for us! If you've got a blog, go ahead and blog this... Facebook? Twitter? Myspace? Bebo? Do show some 'share' love. Please get involved somehow, Thank YOU! Of course, if you (like myself) still quite fancy the original mixtape artwork in all of it's minimalist glory, then let's remind ourselves of it...

You can also check out the 'artist introduction' video Zayna Daze Films put together for this project right HERE!
