iEvent... Cosy Anniversary Show @ Brick House w/ Josh Osho + Shakka + Rachel Kerr (Tuesday, June 5)


Cosy Show are having their second year anniversary showcase this Jubilee bank holiday on Tuesday, June 5 at The Brick House on the ever vibrant Brick Lane and they've brought together an excellent line up of emerging UK artist to put on a right show for you. 

Hosted by resident host Axel and DJ Semo, the live music will be courtesy of Island Def Jam recording artist Josh Osho, who will be joined on stage by Fem Fel, Ash Catch Em and a special guest. One of our favourite London artists right now Shakka will also be performing live as well as Rachel Kerr with comedy coming from KG tha Comedian and Babatunde.

iReview... Style & Substance: Battle of the Sexes @ Queen of Hoxton (December 6, 2011)


Last week Tuesday (December 6), I had the privilege of being invited to the last Style & Substance live music showcase of the year put together by London-based event managers Sistova Production. This showcase - tagged Style & SubstanceBattle of the Sexes - saw the otherwise all-female music showcase invite some of the most promising emerging UK male artists and performers to pit their talent against a selection of up and coming UK female artists and performers plus it was also in aid of the Fibromyalgia Association UK charity...

iEVENT... ONE MIC Autumn Sessions @ Queen of Hoxton w/ CYNIKAL + SHANAZ DORSETT + BELINDA ZHAWI + MORE (Tomorrow, October 23)


After the hugely successful ONE MIC 2nd Anniversary Special last month, We Plug GOOD Music and One Mic UK are kicking off their Autumn/Winter live music season with ONE MIC... The Autumn Sessions this Sunday (October 23) and it will all be taking place at The Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch. 

The stellar line-up put together for this Sunday's showcase includes British Asian rapper/producer CYNIKAL - who has had an eventful Summer festival season which has seen him perform alongside legends such as Snoop Dogg and De La Soul as well as some of the UK's finest in Professor Green, Katy B and Ed Sheeran at Lovebox, the Underage Festival and Turning Point. Joining him on the amazing line-up is British R&B/Soul singer, songwriter and poet SHANAZ DORSETT - who set the entire interwebs alight late last year with her critically acclaimed debut EP titled Above The Clouds, as premiered on DJ Premier Blog, which saw her beautifully write and sing over classic DJ Premier productions from "So Ghetto" to "Nas Is Like" to "Boom" and garner massive support from tastemakers such as I Heart Dilla and Hustle GRL.

Completing the One Mic... Autumn Sessions line-up are Zimbabwean Poet and Writer Belinda Zhawi - a member of The Roundhouse's illustruous and exciting Poetry collective, Rubix Collective (alongside the likes of household names such as Dean Atta and Deanna Rodger) - after having performed at prestigious festivals and nights like Camp Bestival, The Big Chill, Jawdance, Writer's Block and Tongue Fu, Acoustic Soul/African Folk singer, songwriter and musician Lánre - who is also the weekly curator and host of seminal Singer/Songwriter live music showcase Portobello Acoustic Sessions and will also be blessing us with songs off of her newly released debut album titled Pen Voyage Chapter 1: Sing For Change - and emerging UK Hip-Hop artist 3REE-D off of his recent performance at I Luv Live and the release of his debut mixtape The Evolution of 3ree: Lights!!!

iEVENT... PMOI LIVE @ C.A.M.P w/ DEGO + Tanya Auclair + Eric Lau (Thursday, September 15)

"PUT ME ON IT are proud to present the first in a special series of live events at the C.A.M.P. in Shoreditch on Thursday 15th September 2011. We're launching with a very rare and special live show from Dego (4Hero/ 2000 Black) performing his recently released album "A Wha' Him Deh Pon?" with a live band, featuring London's finest musical talent. 
Supporting will be Tanya Auclair, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist performing her original brand of experimental pop much lauded by the likes of Gilles Peterson. Eric Lau, our resident DJ, will be holding it down with an original selection of goodness until 1am.

iEvent... Lyrix Organix x Médecins Sans Frontières x Road to Glastonbury Launch x April 5, 2011
