Here's a beautiful musical revamp of the John Legend & The Roots' 'Shine' off of their 2010 'Wake Up' album from Ahmed Sirour which he entered into the Indaba Music John Legend/The Roots remix competion for a chance to win $1000 and some decent exposure... This musical arrangement is really amazing and not to take anything away from the original or any other remixes floating around BUT this is different!

"Aside from John (of course), I kept ?uestlove on drums and the horn section. All other original parts I left out. I wanted to make an orchestral remix so added strings, french horns, harps, kettle drums, and windchimes (and that's just the intro lol). I changed many of the chord progressions and then arranged a bassline that was played live by my amazing bassist friend, Joel Powell. I also played the piano and organ parts, edited new breaks, mixed, and finally mastered it. That's about it. Compare it to the original and I guarantee you'll hear the differences. This was mad fun!" - Ahmed Sirour

This song is simply beautiful and I was sceptical at first to even listen to it BUT I'm so glad I did + the fact that this song emanates from Nigeria makes it all the more amazing! 'God Is On Her Remix' is the lead single from Nigerian-based emerging Gospel rapper Phishaman aka Mr. Phisha off of his forthcoming mixtape, 'ER Music' and it features Bem Iordaah on vocals!

I would never expect to hear something like this from Nigerian artists and that is why I'm extra impressed. Sounds like something Talib Kweli or Common would be on! Lemme know what you think though...
