Detroit Pop singer/songwriter Alex Winston unveils some brand new visuals for "Choice Notes" which was originally released on 2010 but will be appearing on her forthcoming debut album King Con due out March 6. Check out the Austin Peters-directed video UP top...
We love Alex Winston. If you didn't already realize this, click HERE! "Velvet Elvis" is her forthcoming second single which is scheduled for release on September 5 alongside another the B-side "Fire Ant". We'll let Ms. Winston tell you about this record and you can have a listen underneath...
"'Velvet Elvis’ examines the notion of objectum sexuality: where people have fallen in love with objects(!), often humanizing them – here’s a snippet of the lyrics – “Ma said I ain’t right / Clutching on you all night / But you’re my, you’re my guy / Elvis”…”.When I feel your velvet / I can’t help it / You don’t breathe / So you can’t leave me”."
Very different subject matter for a song but trust Alex Winston to think, write and create outside the box. She did give us '"Sister Wife" after all. I like this one too!
One of my favourite songs of 2011 gets it's visual treatment to glorious effect! Alex Winston's "Sister Wife" is brought to visual life with absolutely compelling (and slightly left-field) visuals directed by That Go! and in case you missed it, UK beatsmith Star Slinger made a sublime remix to this record a month ago which you can check out and download here!
Download Alex Winston's 6-track Sister Wife EP right now on iTunes
One of my favorite songs of the year gets the Star Slinger treatment laced with lush drum kicks, snares and a head-bopping bassline! This is absolutely amazing, Alex Winston's vocals still shine through beautifully and you still can't beat those lyrics PLUS you already know Star Slinger is a BEAST anyway so this is #winning!
POP songs aren't always bad and Detroit-native Indie-Pop singer/songwriter Alex Winston proves this one more time with the Knocks-produced brand NEW lead single 'Sister Wife' off of her forthcoming debut EP of the same name. This is one for all the polygamous people out there, you all finally have an anthem for 2011! I bumped into this the other day over on The Guardian's Music Blog (What am I turning into? The Guardian? Really?) and I thought you'd like it, check it out below!
If you like the sound of Ms. Winston then you'll be glad to know that she's got a couple gig dates coming up over in London on January 27th (Bush Hall) and on February 21st (NME Awards Show) that you might wanna check out!
