iMusic... Citizens - Turns Gold + Echoes

"Citizens are a 4 piece indietronica band influenced by bands likes of Caribou, Bonobo, The Egg, LCD Soundsystem, Sufjan Stevens, DFA 1979, Radiohead and Trentemoller. Over the last year they have supported the likes of Clock Opera, Dutch Uncles and D/R/U/G/S."
I like this band A LOT - can I even say that after listening to two song? Of course I can because two very strong songs from an emerging band are hard to come by these days trust me. What London 4-piece alternative/"indietronica" band Citizens have managed to achieve on "Turns Gold" and it's B-side "Echoes" is quite impressive and has caught my attention - this is Indie goodness at it's finest... "Turns Gold" comes with a darker tone and is laced with heavy drum patterns, rather melanchonic vocals, lush synths and keyboard arrangements while it's B-side "Echoes" is a tad bit brighter and more uptempo - amazing drum patterns on this one and glorious instrumental bridges + isn't there just something compelling about the lead singer's vocals.
