Nigerian Singer/Songwriter Lami is back, after taken a rather lengthy hiatus from the music scene, with a video for "Ori Mi Wu" which features Chocolate City's Ice Prince. The video comes right on the heels of the valentines day release of her song, "Baby", on which she featured Mo'cheddah and Kel. "Ori Mi Wu" is the first video from her forthcoming sophomore album, Pieces of Love. For a big fan of her debut album 'Intuition', I've just never been a fan of Lami's more up-tempo records so no surprise in me not liking 'Yago' but 'Ori Mi Wu' is my jam! This is Lami in her element - lovely vocal rendition & sublime/witty song writing + she gets the chance to showcase her voice to the people who question her vocal dexterity (listen to her at the 2:10 minute mark if you don't think she's got the vocals and tell me she didn't hit those notes outta the park!). There should be a version without the rap verse but that's just me... After a few listens of Ice Prince's rap verse, it's not even at all bad & it fits in with the song on some level...

Nigerian Soul Singer, Lami joins in on the new trend of Nigerian artists giving away FREE music and I cannot be mad at that however if you're one of those people that have purchased her (now almost a year old) début album then you already have these songs and I wouldn't blame you for being salty. One of my favorite records off of Nigerian Soul singer Lami's debut album, 'Intuition' gets its visual treatment. This record is very reminiscent of some Sade Adu I reckon. Lemme know what you think.

iLike Lami alot! I loved her album. This video is now gonna make me revisit that album. It was and still is one of the best Nigerian albums from the last few years if I may be so bold.
