iFilm... Nonso Anozie To Join The Cast Of 'The Promise Keeper'


Nonso Anozie's fame no doubt soared when he appeared as Xaro Xhoan Daxos - the "guy who cheated the khalessi" (as someone put it to me) - in season 2 of Game Of Thrones and ever since then I've been looking forward to his next role and now it seems that's not so far away.

According to reports the British born actor will star Jerry LaMothe's upcoming movie The Promise Keeper which Garcelle Beauvais and Jimmy-Jean-Louis attached to it.

Major talent, in front and behind the camera, continue to sign on to the independent feature film, The Promise keeper, written, produced and to be directed by, Jerry LaMothe (Blackout, The Tombs, Amour Infinity).
Today it was announced that actors, Eric Ebouaney and Nonso Anozie are in talks/negotiations to join the starring cast of the award-winning director’s Brooklyn/Haiti-set drama.
Media mogul Mona Scott Young will be executive producing , under her Monami Entertainment banner.
The Promise Keeper is a suspense drama about two childhood best friends from Brooklyn, that spans over two decades, which showcases the vastly different directions they each takes in life. When one gets deported back to Haiti, the other takes his first ever visit to the island, in search of answers, only months after the tragic earthquake that devastates the country.
The producers have not yet cast the two male leads of the film.
The overseas portion of the shoot, will be a co-production with David Belle’s Cine’ institute, operated out of Jacmel Haiti.
Earlier this year, it was announced that actors S. Epatha Merkerson, Jamie Hector, Garcelle Beauvais, Edwidge Danticat, Jimmy-jean-Louis, Pras of the Fugees and French actress, Stana Roumillac are attached to star in the film. Renowned photographer, Marc Baptiste is also attached as a producer.
Event producer/entrepreneur and philanthropist, Unik Ernest, is on board as an Executive producer.
French actor Eriq Ebouaney is best known for his portrayal of Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba, in the Raoul peck HBO film, Lumumba. He has since worked with Brian De Palma's Femme Fatale, Ridley Scott’s Kingdom of Heaven alongside Liam Neeson and Orlando Bloom. He was also featured as "Ice" in the 2008 action film Transporter 3 in which he starred opposite Jason Statham.
Brit actor, Nonso is best known for his role as Xaro Xhoan Daxos in last season’s hit HBO series, “Game of Thrones” He’s next to appear in the upcoming NBC series, Dracula. He has appeared in “The Grey” opposite Liam Neeson, Atonement and recently appeared as Samson on the History channel’s hit mini-series, “The Bible.”
Additional cast members are scheduled to be announced in the coming weeks.
Mona Scott Young’s Monami Entertainment is home to Grammy Award winning artist Missy Elliott and VH1’s most popular docu-franchise Love & Hip Hop. Scott-Young’s business and philanthropic achievements have garnered recognition from a variety of prestigious organizations and media outlets. She has been honored by the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music Entertainment, Marketer of the Year by Ad Age Magazine and the National Congress and Convention of Haitian Americans. She currently serves on the board of The Haitian Roundtable and The RSQ Foundation.
Shooting is scheduled to commence this summer.
