iFilm... THE MIRROR BOY (Trailer)

OH Films and The Nollywood Factory are gearing up to host what is said to be the biggest film premiere of an African film in the UK on February 24 (more details on this tomorrow) for Nigerian director Obi Emelonye's brand new film titled 'The Mirror Boy' starring two of Nollywood's finest actors - Genevieve Nnaji and Osita Iheme. The film set in Gambia also stars Gambian film star Fatima Jabbe and fast rising British young actor Edward Katuguzi. Read the director's synopsis of the film below and check out the trailer right underneath...
"Mirror Boy is an enthralling journey through Gambia, seen through the eyes of London-born 12 year old Tijan (Edward Kagutuzi). Getting involved in a street fight, in which a boy is hurt, his mother (Genevieve Nnaji) decides to take him to the Gambia to live with her sister. On their arrival in Banjul, Tijan encounters an apparition of a boy smiling at him in a mirror and vanishing. Seeing the same boy in a crowded street market the next day sets in motion a chain of events that culminates in him getting lost. While Tijan's panic-stricken mother struggles to find her son in an intriguing game of survival brinkmanship, Tijan is left alone in the company of the enigmatic Mirror Boy, who is only visible to him. A bruising spiritual rite of passage, Mirror Boy takes Tijan on a magical and mystical journey." - Obi Emelonye

I'll be sharing more details on the World Movie Premiere of 'The Mirror Boy' tomorrow so make sure you stay locked here for it... Who knows? There might be some free tickets to the Premiere to be won!!! If you can't wait to get your hands on those tickets then you should go HERE now!

iMusic... Saeon + Falz - Recover From You (Ma Fi Mi Le)

Emerging Nigerian UK-based R&B singer Saeon literally just dropped this gem into my inbox. The JRS-produced instantly infectious up-tempo record laced with heavy drum patterns and lush Indian flute lines sees Saeon sounding as smooth and beautiful as ever on this modern R&B song and Falz doing what only he can with that infectious and 100% Gidi flow of his. This is a WIN for me, listen below...

I call this 2 for 2 from the very talented singer and who is this JRS producer? This production goes all the way in!!!

iVideo... Memphis Bleek - Laced Up

I could spot the Jay-Z copied-lines from a mile off but I still like Bleek regardless and that voice over with a British accent at the end there is too much jokes!

iMusic... Nina B + Skyzoo - Picture This (Prod. by 6th Sense)

First she got Curt@!n$ on a track and now emerging Brooklyn female Hip-Hop artist is back with the brand new single titled 'Picture This' off of her forthcoming mixtape 'Remember Me Bitch: The Bosstress is Back'. The 6th Sense produced keyboard-driven soulful song features fellow Brooklyn emcee, Skyzoo.

Here's what Nina B had to say about the song:
"A cold dark night about a year or so ago, in the studio with one of my favorite producers... I knew what I needed when I got there, and I knew he'd know exactly how to execute that too. I approached 6th Sense with a concept, I presented the vision. He started making the beat ; right there and right then, heads nodding in approval... I started writing. My competitive nature compelled me to finish my masterpiece before he could finish his... But, he'd always beat me to the punch! Even this time. I sat there, putting it all together. Alone. And I smiled a little when it was done, but I knew what it needed now was another perspective. I reached out to Skyzoo..that's how "Picture This" was made. Hope you enjoy!" - Nina B

iFashion... Vogue Italia x The Black Allure x February 2011

Photographer Emma Summerton and Editor/Stylist Edward Enninful are called upon by Vogue Italia for this beautiful 20-page spread of all-Black models titled 'The Black Allure' in this month's Vogue Italia publication to great effects. Watch some backstage footage of the amazing 'The Black Allure' editorial below that features Chanel Iman, Jourdan Dunn, Sessilee Lopez and Arlenis Sosa amongst others... Simply breath-taking!

"To some people of the opposite race and maybe not fashion related, they sometime think and say "what's all the fuss? Why are we still talking about race?" They sometime say, "enough is enough," "can't we leave it along." Some even think its "reverse racism" to care to have an all black model story or runway show. That of course is laughable." - Bethan Hardison (Vogue Italia Editor-at-Large)
Fans of Vogue Italia's ground-breaking July 2008 All-Black issue (myself included) and their gallant efforts at showcasing more and more beautiful Black models via the Vogue Black section of their website will absolutely love and appreciate this. "Read more" below for some of the incredible pictures from Emma Summerton.
