iVideo - Bon Iver - Hinnom + Baby + More (Air Studios Live)

4AD and Jagjaguwar have collaborated on a live session that captures a truly unique Bon Iver performance, featuring Justin Vernon and Sean Carey. Vernon was joined only by Carey, rather than an eleven piece band, like we are used to seeing him pair with. The duo positioned themselves opposite one another on two grand pianos and although neither Justin nor Sean's first instrument is the piano, they were able to remodel the songs in a way that showcases their complimentary vocals.

The set-list includes: Hinnom Tx,Wash, I can't make you love me, Babys, Beth/Rest.

iVideo... Bon Iver - Holocene x Beth/Rest (Saturday Night Live)

The amazing Indie Folk band, Bon Iver graced the stage of Saturday Night Live last night (February 4) to perform two of their songs from their self titled sophomore album of 2011. Up top we have "Holocene" and down below, they perform "Beth/Rest". Amazing performance, Amazing vocals by Justin Vernon, Amazing band... Check them both out...

The deluxe version of Bon Iver's sophomore album Bon Iver hits stores today and here's one of the visuals that will be accompanying the release. "Beth/Rest" is one of the most talked about songs on Bon Iver and rightly so, it's very unlike Vernon on the surface but this Solo acoustic version turned people's opinions back in September. iMusic... Bon Iver - Beth/Rest (Solo Piano Version)

Justin Vernon/Bon Iver's self-titled sophomore album is a great record - one of the best of 2011 so far - but one song off of the album that a lot of Bon Iver fans and critics alike give rather too much stick (in my opinion) is the album's closer "Beth/Rest". "For good reason", some might say - it sounds nothing like the rest of the album and it feels out of place plus it's a Lionel Richie/Bruce Hornsby-type 80's Adult Contemporary/Soft Rock record aka "Cheesy" and that's certainly not what we know and love Justin Vernon for - not that I mind by the way, I actually like "Beth/Rest" for a number of reasons. 

Anyway Bon Iver was recently on NPR's World Cafe and Vernon gave a brilliant performance of "Beth/Rest" - a more stripped down acoustic Piano rendition of "Beth/Rest" that is not only AWESOME but should please any stubborn critics of the original album cut, listen BELOW...
